Willy Fuego is perhaps one of the most authentic 'rumbero' living in Barcelona, Spain. You could call him the Morissey of the rumba if you want, his songs are inspired by nostalgy and broken hearts, or should we rather call him the Spanish underground version of Chris Isaak? All good. On this first full album 'Acontracorriente' Willy Fuego is presenting a bunch of pretty good sounding rumba and cumbia-songs, or even some salsa and son, and of course a very pumpy remix by Chalart58, one of his good friends from the Barcelona mestizo-scene. Willy Fuego is rumba, is authentic. Sad songs and latin melodies, oh yes it works. Fans of latin music will also recognize Amparo Sánchez, Dani Txarnego and Muerdo on this album.
